24 August 2025: Mission Farewell

Image
Felicity was invited to speak in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, August 24, 2025.  She was asked to speak on Making and Keeping Covenants and was given the talk "Walking in Covenant Relationship with Christ " by President Emily Belle Freeman the Young Women General President. The young women in our ward (including Helen) sang "As Sisters In Zion" and it was lovely and then Felicity gave her talk.  She did a fantastic job.  Here is the text of the address she gave "Joy in Making and Keeping Covenants":   Good Morning brothers and sisters, I'm so happy to be up here speaking to you today. My name is Felicity Comaduran, soon to be Sister Comaduran.  I could not be more excited to speak to you and share a message with you, while excited I’m also a little nervous. I have made the choice to serve a mission  I was called to serve in the Indianapolis, Indiana mission. I start Home MTC September 8th and leave for the Provo MTC September 17th.  I wanted to begin wi...

I Hope They Call Me on a Mission! Opening My Mission Call

Image
It was a long week for Felicity.  She received her mission call on Monday, June 23rd and didn't open it all week wanting to wait and find out with everyone else at her mission opening on Sunday, June 29th.  She and I enjoyed watching a couple of movies together and talking about school and the mission excitement as she anxiously awaited Sunday to come around.   I had ordered a huge map of the world and mounted it to foam board.  We had everyone use pins with flags on them to make guesses as to where they thought Felicity would be going.  We also had folks leave advice for both the missionary and Mom and Dad. I was overwhelmed, honestly overwhelmed by the love and support Felicity received.  We had so many people come to watch her open her mission call in person, I think we easily had 60+ people in the house.  Amazing!  With everyone's guesses in and both a Facebook Live and Zoom stream going, we started by singing "I'll Go Where You Want Me t...

The Mission Papers are In!

Image
Felicity has completed all the pre-work and interviews and her bishop has submitted her paperwork to Salt Lake.  Now we wait!  Where do you think Felicity will go?  She would like to be able to learn a new language, but says she'll be happy wherever she is assigned.

Pre-Mission Work

In mid April, we had some exciting news, Felicity started her mission papers!  She's been talking about serving a full time proselyting mission the past few years and this week after meeting with her Bishop started on her application paperwork.  She had to call home with some questions and to get help, "what's my social security number?" etc.  We are proud of her and look forward to seeing how it all works out.  She's going to finish her cosmetology program and get her license in July and put her mission availability starting in August.  Here she is at the Gila Valley temple, she tries to go every week. In May Felicity did a lot of "adulting".  She's been working on her mission application and as such had a lot of appointments.  She had a dental evaluation and got a full set of X-Rays.  They cleared her of any dental problems and referred her to an oral surgeon for a consult on having her wisdom teeth removed.  In preparation for her medical ...

I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Why I decided to serve a mission

Image
I wanted to share why I decided to serve a mission. I decided to serve for a few reasons. The biggest reason being that when my parents got divorced and my dad left the church and saw how he started to lead a very different life. Without the gospel I saw how destructive his life had become. I know that the church brings true joy and eternal happiness to us, and having the opportunity to share it with others is important to me. I saw what was missing in the lives of those who live without the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I wanted to share the love and joy I feel with those who may not know where to find peace and joy.  The other major reason I decided to become a missionary is because it was the result of missionaries efforts that I enjoy the blessings of the Gospel. A pair of sister missionaries shared the gospel with my mom while she was in college and because of their willingness to serve, my family has the gospel. The most important reason however, is that I have a testimony of my...
